about us

Mike and Jan Jones, husband and wife team and Wimberley residents since 1992, own and operate AmeriTex Builders.

Mike brings to the building business thirty years of hands-on experience in various phases of home construction, including foundations, framing, plumbing, electrical, painting, and trim. As a young man he learned his carpentry skills from his dad and later established his own kitchen and bath company. His expertise in cabinetry and counter tops taught him the importance of attention to detail.

Mike believes that every stage of construction must be fully and accurately completed before moving to the next stage, from setting a square foundation to adding a final stroke of the paintbrush. And he is familiar with each individual task and with each stage of construction.

Mike Jones Awarded Graduate Master builder (GMB) Designation

Mike Jones, President of Ameritex Builders, Inc., became on of the more than 500 professional builders nationwide to attain a Graduate Master Builder (GMB) designation, identifying him as one of the building industries top professionals. Administered by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Education, the GMB program is sponsored locally by the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin (HBAGA)

To qualify for the GMB certificate program, a builder must have attained the Certified Graduate Builder (CGB) or Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) designation; or have successfully completed three courses and have at least ten years of building business experience. GMB graduates complete an intensive series of five, six hour courses on business management techniques, and the newest trends and technology in the building industry.

After earning the GMB credentials, program graduates are required to maintain their designation through completion of an additional twelve hours of training every three years coupled with participation in the approved NAHB-related activities.
